Cross stitching pre-finished items….?
Hi there!
I’ve been stitching for about 3 years on and off usually things for framing or cards. More recently though I have been making eyes at various pre-finished hand towels, tea towels, tablecloths etc. & I love the designs and patterns I see out there!
But I’m a bit nervous about stitching on them because the back of my project will be naked for all to see!!!
So any ideas in terms of
a) keeping the back of my projeect looking neat and tidy (because I generally put a backing on my stitching even bookmarks!)
b) does it matter whether I use a knotless loop or the stitch-over-the tail method?
c) how to best travel my thread from one stitch to another a few blocks away
d) do I need to spray one of those fixative sprays once I’ve completed to secure the project
All tips and suggestions welcome!

Hi there,
One trick I’ve done to hide the messy back is to sew a patch over the back with a neutral colour using my sewing machine. It also helps keep the stitches from unravelling and doesn’t detract from the finished design on the other side.
